Direct Linking to Grades K-5 Database Content
|
- In order to obtain direct links to BCPS database content, you must access the database through the Digital Content tile in BCPS One.
- If you are working in BCPSOne, a link to the Digital Content portal is available under More Resources on the left sidebar.
- When clicked by users inside the BCPS network, Direct Links created using the protocols below will automatically authenticate and display. From outside the network, users who click on a direct link will be prompted to input the database's unique remote access user ID and password, and then the linked digital content will display.
- For tutorials and information about using database features and functionality, visit the Digital Content Snapshot & Support pages.
- See also this QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE to Direct Linking & Reading Levels for Grades K-5 Digital Content.

* Please note that if you are adding a link to any of the BrainPOP databases to a Microsoft Office document, spreadsheet or presentation, the direct linking protocol will not work. You will need to save the file as a PDF in order for the direct link to work. |
See the examples below:
- Example of BrainPOP URL displayed in browser: http://www.brainpop.com/science/scientificinquiry/scientificmethod/
- Example of BrainPOP Direct Link created using Direct Link stem:

PLEASE NOTE:
- Direct links to BrainPOP content currently do not work from a PowerPoint slideshow (e.g. a Slam Dunk Lesson) unless students first authenticate by through the BCPS Digital Content Portal. DIrect links WILL work if the PPT is saved as a PDF. Otherwise, please include the following instruction if you are including a direct link to BrainPOP on a PowerPoint slide: First, click on BrainPOP from the Digital Content tile in BCPS One; then, return to this slide to open this link.
- Currently, adding direct links to BrainPOPcontent to BCPSOne using the above protocol is preferred over adding from the BCPSOne Repository.
