Web-based tools that students can use (meaning that they don't require student users to register with an email address)
Web-based tools that only teachers can use (for professional use or to generate instructional materials)

Each tool links to its informational page with its URL, an overview, tutorials, and lesson application ideas. In addition, tools are tagged with keywords based on the services that they provide. You may choose to view similarly tagged tools by clicking on any one of the tags. Grade level codes are approximate and stand for (P)rimary PreK-2, (I)ntermediate 3-5, (M)iddle 6-8, and (H)igh 9-12.

brainstorming	allows users to capture, share, and visualize ideas
classroom management	assists teachers in managing classroom routines, behavior, and resources
collaboration	allows users to communicate, share resources, create documents, and connect with other users synchronously or asynchronously
concept mapping	visually organizes information in various graphic formats
content	provides subject matter to support instruction and learning
curation	collects, organizes, and displays digital resources; usually in related topics
data	provides data sets and/or creates visual displays of data
discussion	allows users to communicate with each other synchronously or asynchronously; usually via text, but sometimes using audio recording
ebooks	provides access to books in digital format for display on a computer screen or handheld device
game generator	creates digital games or activities that include a goal, challenges, rules, user interaction, and entertainment
manipulative	has digital objects for users to maneuver in order to learn or demonstrate knowledge of concepts
mapping	creates maps or uses maps to present information
news aggregator	collects and combines syndicated web content from multiple sources into one location
presentation	facilitates the display of information to an audience in a logical and organized format by combining text, graphics, and/or multimedia; it may be static (still) or dynamic (moving)
productivity	helps the user manage their time and resources; includes but is not limited to word processing, note-taking, task lists, spreadsheets, and project management
research	assists users in finding, citing, and analyzing sources of information
storage	stores digital content
storytelling	uses any combination of text, graphics, and multimedia to present fictional or non-fictional information in a logical progression using narrative text conventions
survey	collects responses from participants by using various question formats; can be anonymous or named
timeline	visually organizes information in a chronological format
vocabulary	assists users in studying words and their definitions, parts of speech, spelling, etc.
word cloud	visually represents text data; using font size and/or color to denote frequency and/or category
writing	provides a platform for users to practice writing skills by inputting original text or meaningfully interacting with supplied text
