Providing credible, accurate, reliable content on almost every core-curricula subject, Scholastic GO!® offers endless resources for research in a multitude of media. Explore nonfiction texts, world newspapers, videos and more with this easy-to-navigate digital resource designed to strengthen content knowledge, vocabulary, and core proficiency skills.

Content & Features

  • Scholastic GO Features at a Glance
  • Articles:  More than 115,000 expertly written articles, sortable by Lexile level. 
  • Images: Database text enriched with illustrations and photographs, both historical and current. Images appear separately in search results as well as appear beside relevant text, and can be clicked to enlarge the image and read an explanatory caption. 
  • Maps: Interactive topographical, historical and current maps, World Atlas and U.S. Map.
  • Videos: Videos appear in articles and as a separate search result. Short clips relating to the article content.
  • World Newspapers: Students have access to 1100 world newspapers in 73 Languages.
  • Web Sites: More than 80,000 curated and editorially vetted websites related to topics searched. 
  • More Info: Refers students to additional information including sidebar notes, articles, tables and charts.
  • Dictionary:  Instant access to American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language helps students to build vocabulary in context. 

 

Learning Supports & Tools

  • Access the Dictionary, GoTube videos, World News, or Atlas from top frame on any page.
  • Access Images, Videos, More Info, or vetted external Websites from search results page. 
  • Read Aloud:  From any article page, click Turn Read Aloud On at the top of the frame. 
    • Click on any sentence to begin Read Aloud. Each sentence is highlighted in yellow, and individual words are highlighted in blue as they are read aloud. Click Turn Read Aloud Off at the top of the frame at any time.  
  • Reading Levels/Lexiles:  Filter search results by Reading Level. Lexiles displayed beside article titles in search results. Click the Lexile link at the top of an article to see its Lexile score.  
  • Citations:  Click Cite This Article link at the top of the article for  pre-formatted citations in MLA, Chicago, and APA styles; citations also appear at the bottom of each article.

  • Sharing Option:  Click Email at the top of the page frame to send the article to yourself or a colleague. 
  • Standards Alignment:  Click Standards Alignment at top of an article to see aligned National or State standards.
