Visual Thinking with Sketchnotes Workshop

Description: Humans are wired to be visual thinkers from birth.  So how can this natural ability be leveraged by learners to solve problems and increase comprehension?  Sketchnoting is a way to capture auditory information through the recording of images, text, and diagrams in real time.  Participants in this workshop will learn about the powerful draw of this engaging classroom practice, learn to take their own sketchnotes, and explore ways to introduce their students to sketchnoting.

Outcome: Participants will explore the sketchnoting process in order to understand how to use it as a comprehension strategy for their students.

Indicator:  Participants will create their own sketchnotes and develop a plan for exposing their students to the sketchnoting process.
