Getting Started

 

Diigo is a powerful online research tool and collaborative platform that integrates social bookmarking, web annotation, tagging, and discussion. Features of Diigo support online knowledge management and participatory learning.  Teachers should create a free account and then apply for the educator upgrade.

To comply with BCPS Policy and Rule 5230 it is important that teachers not share student's personally identifiable information with Diigo.  Because Diigo will have information about the teacher, the school and the grade level, teachers MAY NOT share students' full names.  A student's first and last name in combination with the other required information makes it personally identifiable.

 

Recommendations:

     When adding your students to your class in Diigo it is recommended that you enter either:

          - first name/last initial

          - first initial/last name

          - BCPS username

          - first name/BCPS username
